Can a person who lets their baby drown in the sea be innocent? Dozens of moral and ethical questions cross ‘Saint Omer’, Alice Diop’s award-winning film that was shortlisted for France at the Academy Awards. Based on Marketing Strategy on a Pan-European scale that we delivered for Diop’s film, we were also able to work on the digital campaign for its theatrical release for Surtsey Films. The objective: to make this legal drama masterpiece create awareness reaching a wide audience. A campaign that fully exploited the potential of the digital environment, with a careful formal aspect, and that culminated its maximum potential with the coverage of Alice Diop’s visit to Spain. Beyond the digital campaign, we carried out activations such as a popular jury contest in partnership with the ‘Cine Embajadores theater in Madrid. The digital community of the audience-building program European Film Challenge was also able to enjoy the film to the fullest with the special challenge #EFCxSaintOmer and a whole series of premium content that exploited the appealing aesthetic aspect of the film for young audiences.
