Release Strategy and Film Positioning for El Cautivo
In EL CAUTIVO, directed by Alejandro Amenábar, we developed a release strategy and film positioning for the film focused on increasing visibility across social media.
Set in 1575, the film tells the story of a young soldier, Miguel de Cervantes, who is captured by corsairs and taken as a hostage to Algiers. While awaiting his ransom, he finds refuge in his talent as a storyteller, bringing hope to his fellow prisoners. His ability to craft stories soon attracts the attention of the powerful Pasha Hasan, with whom he forms an unexpected bond.
Alongside social media management with Buena Vista International, we developed creative content, influencer coordination, and cast-led content aimed at bringing the film and its universe closer to audiences, making the story more accessible and creating a stronger emotional connection, improving engagement. We also covered the official premiere.
As part of the campaign, the film achieved significant industry recognition, including 7 nominations at the Goya Awards, consolidating its impact within the Spanish cinema landscape.
