Produced by Setembro Films, Caballo Films, and Tandem Films, and with distribution handled by Universal Pictures Spain, The Wailing is the debut film of Pedro Martín-Calero, who with his first movie managed to win The Silver Shell for best director at the San Sebastian Film Festival. The Film Agency was responsible for managing the International Social Media Strategy of the film during its World Premiere at the Official Competition at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
